Printers

Printing problems follow the same guidelines as computer problems. Many can be fixed by the following these stepss:

  1. Make sure to save your document before attempting to print.

  2. Make sure you have selected the correct printer.

  3. Is the printer out of paper or jammed?

  4. Remove paper trays. Check for and remove any creased or damaged paper.

  5. Open doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge and check for any paper that may be trapped.

  6. Close all printer doors.

  7. Ask someone else using the same printer if it's working for him/her.

  8. Whether it is a local or network printer check the connections to be sure everything is plugged in, all connections are tight and printer is ready with lights on.

  9. Turn the printer off, wait 30 seconds, then turn back on.

  10. If you still can't print, close all open applications after first saving the document.  Turn the computer off, wait 30 seconds, then turn back on and try again.
